Course Description

Golden State Training Center offers a Defensive Tactics Course specifically designed for the security industry such as Loss Prevention Officers, Uniformed Security Officers, Bail Enforcement Agents, etc.  The Defensive Tactics course is designed to address the advanced training needs for defensive tactics in conjunction with handcuffing. This course picks up where our regular Handcuffing class leaves off.

Studies indicate that a great number of individuals resist arrest/detention. All too often the result is injury to security personnel or the suspect. Our course will assist in reducing officer/suspect injury, reduce exposure to civil/criminal liability, reduce workers compensation claims and increase security personnel safety.  You do not have to be a licensed security guard in order to take this class.

Since there are special considerations for security professionals and the companies that employ them, we take great care to cover liabilities and protections for their best interests. 
   
This course focuses on the following topics; review of liability, California BSIS review, documentation, defensive tactics stances and positioning, control holds, overcoming resistance, prone control, defensive alternatives, and footwork.

The cost of this minimum two (2) hour class is $90. This class is part lecture and part physical training, so all participants are required to wear loose, comfortable clothing and tennis type shoes, so that they can perform all aspects of the training.  Since it is essential for the course to have an even number of multiple students in attendance, this course is only available for groups of four (4) or more, but not to exceed eight (8) students per class, and is scheduled on an appointment only basis.  Please contact us directly, if interested in this offering.
