Course Description
Golden State Training Center offers a basic firearms proficiency course which is eight (8) hours in length, comprising both classroom and live fire instruction.
The course takes into account the general fundamentals of weapon use, that involves weapon knowledge, safety precautions, basic operating protocols and progressively moves the student through these phases to the level of basic live-fire exercises, which is geared towards confidence building in the use of the weapons.
Topic areas include; brief history & parts, strip/ assemble and maintenance, laws that relate to weapons and use of deadly force, proper storage practices with an emphasis on elimination of accidental injury to a child, loading & unloading, holding/aiming and firing (theory), basic field-stoppages & remedies, live range exercise (optional).
Course starts at 8:00 am and with a one hour lunch break, it will end by 5:00 pm. Cost of this course is $250. Course is offered based upon minimum 3-4 student interest.
